Try a different affirmation. Yes! Yes! Yes!
A few weeks ago I worked with a young person who preferred to remain more passive during our session. He was curious, interested and willing to play with the tapping idea. He answered my questions, but didn’t want to get ‘into it’ too much. I was fine with the fact that I tapped and he only watched. It was OK that he didn’t tell his story, since he was willing to think about it.
But when I said the words “I accept myself”, instead of repeating the words, he tapped on the points and jokingly said “No, No, No”.
That was going to be a problem because the word “No” and other disaffirmations (is that a word?) will hold back the healing process. So I simply said the word “Yes” over and over. He was OK with that and it worked. We cleared his story using only the word “Yes” instead of an affirmation phrase.Try this experiment for yourself to get out of, and back into a mental state which will promote healing.
Say, think, or just look at the following words:
How does that make you feel inside?
Now try these words and feel the difference in your body:
Experiment with saying “No” a few times, and then “Yes” a few times and notice if your body wants to smile at the yes and sort of frown at the no. The nuanced difference is just a hint of a feeling, but that wisp of a feeling can make or break a tapping experience.
If your EFT tapping doesn’t work, try saying “yes” 10 times in the beginning of you tapping, and in between the negative stuff you are tapping about. It just might help.
All the best,
